More specifically how the Power System works, what the hazards are, what we’ve learnt from incidents, and a dialogue on how to equip workers to have safe work practices around electricity. Speaker:
Anita Ansari is a process engineer with a bachelor’s and masters in different engineering disciplines as she was curious about how things work and why they sometimes don’t. She’s worked on-site in pulp and paper, designed and optimized facilities for mining, and recently wrapped up a stint in municipal politics as a school board trustee. She had a personal experience as a bystander which nudged her into occupational first aid, eventually turning into a professional focus on worker safety. Anita currently works for BC Hydro, where she has been on the safety engineering team, the regulatory risk team, and conducted investigations on the incident management team. Anita is currently on the public safety team, which works to keep folks safe around electrical infrastructure.
