Raeleigne Van Patten

Candidate for Director at Large

Raeleigne Van Patten has more than 20 years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of health, safety, environmental, behavior-based safety, operations, quality, and wellness programs. Raeleigne’s focus has been on influencing executive leadership, workers, contractors, and the safety community in Canada. She specializes in organizational systems improvements, change management, optimization, and implementing strategies with best practices to advance organizational culture and foster an environment of continuous improvement that aligns with organizational deliverables and strategic plans.

Raeleigne is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and holds a number of certifications and designations, including a National Construction Safety Officer Certificate and a certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. As well, she is a Change Management Professional.

Currently, Raeleigne is the CSSE’s Vice President, Governance & Human Resources. She has been a member of and active volunteer with the CSSE since 2004. She was Chair of the Edmonton Chapter from 2009 to 2016 and Regional Vice President of the Alberta, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut region from 2017 to 2019. Raeleigne also served on the Alberta North Screening Committee of the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals from 2008 to 2017.

Raeleigne’s focus as a Director at Large will be on outreach to CSSE members and external stakeholders. This will include bringing industry, government, students, and other governing bodies together to create a cohesive and effective working relationship that will benefit the CSSE’s up-and-coming health and safety community members and students through collaborative networking opportunities facilitated by the CSSE’s national body. She also hopes to continue the transformative work underway at the CSSE as it moves forward on a new path.
