Paul Andre

Candidate for Vice President, Finance

Paul Andre is the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Workplace Safety North in North Bay, Ontario. Workplace Safety North is a not-for-profit association mandated by the Ontario government to provide approved health and safety training to the province’s mining and forestry products sectors. Paul’s other positions have included working with the Ontario Ministry of Labour’s Prevention Division as a Senior Advisor; 10 years as Manager of Field Services and CEO at the Pulp and Paper Health and Safety Association, where he received a National Quality Institute’s Canada Award for Excellence for Quality; and 10 years as a consultant/trainer at the Ontario Forestry Safe Workplace Association.

Paul graduated from Ryerson University’s (now Toronto Metropolitan University) Occupational Health and Safety Certificate Program in 1998. He has been a Canadian Registered Safety Professional since 1996.

Paul is the current Vice President, Finance, at the CSSE. He is also the past Governor and Past Chair of the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals.

Paul is seeking re-election so that he can continue the transformational work begun by the Board this year. He believes that the CSSE is now in a position where creating value for its members is more important than ever. As a membership organization, CSSE finds itself making important and necessary changes to support its continued relevance to the safety profession. As part of the Board that initiated these transformative changes, it is important to Paul that he see this work through, as the success of these changes will support the long-term success of CSSE and, by extension, the success of members of the CSSE. His deep experience in business planning, budgeting, and leading change within a not-for-profit work environment are core competencies that he could continue to bring to his volunteer role with the CSSE.
