Process Plant Constructors Ltd (PPCL), a subsidiary of Propak Systems, is a leader in oil and gas process plant construction. PPCL is currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to begin work at its field construction sites near Lloydminster and North Battleford, SK.

PPCL offers a 14-and-7-day schedule, 10-hour day shifts with competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and attractive Living Out Allowance (LOA) to those eligible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing, and enforcing site-specific safe work procedures and practices.
  • Promptly responding to concerns brought forward by internal and external clients.
  • Liaising with client, prime contractor, and sub-contractor safety departments.
  • Conducting incident investigations and establishing root cause and preventative measures.
  • Participating in audits, inspections, evaluations, observations, and compiling reports. Including daily safety walks.
  • Completing hazard assessments for each job at the project sites.
  • Following up on deficiencies with supervisors and corrective action items.
  • Ensuring the appropriate wearing and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all workers, contractors, and visitors.
  • Preparing and posting safety bulletins and making workers aware of procedural/practice changes.
  • Maintaining safety records and performing administrative and record-keeping functions and procedures with an emphasis on confidentiality.
  • Developing and conducting presentations.
  • Conducting on-site safety meetings.
  • Coordinating site-specific orientations and training for workers and contractors.
  • Liaising with Occupational Health & Safety Officers and other regulatory authorities to promote safety
  • Coordinating return-to-work program with Site Superintendents and appropriate supervisors, ensuring medical limitations are adhered to.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have 4-9 years of Health and Safety experience in Oil & Gas construction industry and possess one of the following Safety Professional credentials.

  • Certificate of Occupational Health & Safety through a recognized Canadian university
  • CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or CHSC (Certified Health & Safety Consultant)
  • NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) or CSO (Construction Safety Officer)

Candidates must have also successfully completed the following safety programs.

  • CSTS - 2020
  • H2S Alive - Energy Safety Canada
  • Fall Protection - Energy Safety Canada or equivalent
  • Elevated Work Platform - Energy Safety Canada or equivalent
  • First Aid Level C with AED
  • WHMIS (GHS) 2015

Experience in the following would be considered an asset.

  • Investigation Training
  • Leadership for Safety Excellence
  • Experience with software programs, such as, ISNetworld, Comply works, iAuditor
