For this year's professional development conference in Edmonton, we are planning an exhibit that includes a display of "artifacts" spanning as much of the 75-year history as we can. Electronic voting is now open for the Director-at-Large positions (4). Active regular, professional, retired and life CSSE members can vote for their top 4 candidates. The electronic election vote will run from March 20 and will close March 31 at 5 PST through the CSSE member portal.

BCRSP and CSSE Announce the Release of the New BCRSP Exam Study Guides

The Board of the Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) are proud to announce the market availability of the BCRSP certification examination study guides, commissioned by CSSE. CSSE is a strategic partner of the BCRSP. In spring 2021, the CSSE took over custodianship of the BCRSP certification examination study guides. The CSSE commissioned industry experts from Mazur Safety Inc. to author an update to the guides. The study guides contain information to aid occupational health and safety practitioners preparing for a BCRSP certification examination.

We had an entire week to celebrate our collective success, and what a week it was! We partnered with the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety to kick off Safety and Health Week. Minister of Labour Seamus O’Regan praised the important work of participants as he helped open the week. There were also inspirational stories shared on perseverance, overcoming challenges, and realizing opportunities by numerous speakers.

We are pleased to announce that nominees have been acclaimed and these candidates successfully met the criteria as vetted by the Nominations and Elections Task Force. As such, an election will not be required.

On October 6, 2021, in a Special Meeting of Members, the new Governance structure and By-Laws of the CSSE were approved. As a result, CSSE members will be electing a new Governance Board as well as Regional Vice-Presidents who will sit on a new Regional Council in this year’s CSSE National Elections.
