Totally committed to client service delivery, the Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full- time Disability Management Advisor to join our team of professionals in the Human Resources Division.

Reporting to the Manager, Health and Safety, in this Exempt position will be a key member of our Human Resources team and will be involved in disability case management related to both occupational and non- occupational injuries and illnesses. The Disability Management Advisor obtains and manages confidential employee information, develops and implements return to work plans, determines appropriate medical and disability accommodations and interprets medical information. This position liaises with health care and insurance providers, assists employees and their supervisors/managers with attendance management programs and assists in analyzing statistics and recommending wellness/safety initiatives. This will be  done while demonstrating care and compassion, building successful relationships and developing effective recovery, return to work, accommodation and attendance support/stay at work programs.

This position will appeal to a fast paced, detail-oriented, independent and well-organized individual who has a degree or diploma in Disability Management with a minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in the disability case management field or an equivalent combination of related experience and specialized education. A Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Return to Work Coordinator (CRTWC) designation or additional courses in occupational health, rehabilitation, legislation related to disability management, helping relationship skills, mediation, disability insurance, psychological and workplace factors in disability is considered an asset. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills along with superior assessment and problem-solving abilities. Experience working in  the municipal and/or public sector would be of benefit. Please upload copies of degree/diploma/certifications with your application.
