You are an Occupational Health and Safety professional with at least four years’ experience directly related to Occupational Health and Safety. You hold a post-secondary degree in a related field, preferably in occupational health and safety; or relevant engineering, technical or construction qualifications/certifications; or journeyperson level certification in an appropriate trade with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a journeyperson.

Your knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, related regulations and the fundamentals of Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (OHSE) management systems will make you an asset to this team. In addition you will have a general knowledge of the Electricity Utility Safety Rules, and generally accepted electrical utility sector safety policies, best practices and standards.

You have strong interpersonal skills, are solution oriented and innovative; and possess a commitment to quality work and attention to detail, with a focus on results.

What would I be responsible for?

Reporting to the Manager, Safety & Occupational Health, Safety & Environment Management System, you would be responsible for the implementation of corporate occupational health, safety and environment (OHSE) objectives and activities that contribute to the achievement of Hydro Ottawa’s OHSE goals and strategic priorities by providing consultative and advisory services to management and employees in support of the organization’s OHSE programs.

This is a management group opportunity and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
