FRPD's experienced and enthusiastic Project Teams are dedicated to exceeding our existing and future clients' expectations.

We are seeking an Occupational Health & Safety Professional with a demonstrated ability to manage and facilitate Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Programs in a heavy construction environment.  This individual will work closely with the company Health and Safety Manager and Project Management Staff to maintain high standards which parallel FRPD’s current Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Programs. This position requires the incumbent to be available evenings and weekends on call as required.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Perform jobsite safety inspections, develop clear action plans and monitor progress

  • Assist project staff to resolve health, safety & environmental challenges

  • Research and define issues, the applicable legislation, and the options for correction

  • Develop and deliver educational aids and training

  • Complete Job Hazard Assessments (JHA’s) and develop Safe Work Procedures (SWP’s)

  • Conduct comprehensive and accurate incident investigations



  • Occupational Health & Safety Diploma (BCIT or Equivalent)

  • 3+ years HS&E experience, preferably in heavy construction and/or marine sectors 

  • Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to travel as required

  • Strong organizational, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to develop and deliver training programs

  • Ability to handle physically demanding work that may be outside and on project sites

  • Clear understanding of current health, safety & environmental legislation

  • Occupational First Aid (Level 2 or 3)

  • Strong ability with Microsoft Office, experience with safety related software is an asset.
