Are you interested in expanding your knowledge and skills related to occupational safety and health in the field of fire inspection and the administration of the National Fire Code? If so, this certificate program is ideal for you.
The risk of fire is one of the greatest threats to health, safety, and the delivery of services. A program of routine fire inspections helps to ensure that critical building infrastructure, including equipment, systems and fire emergency procedures, meet or exceed current fire protection and prevention standards as established in the National Fire Code. Students learn how to conduct fire inspections in buildings, including those under construction, renovation and demolition, as well as how to review and make recommendations for changes to fire safety plans and protocols.
Currently, two courses in this program are available both in-class and online and the remaining three courses are offered in-class only.
To qualify for this certificate, you must complete the program within three years.
